Leveille Named CCHA 's Top Rookie

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. â?? The Central Collegiate HockeyAssociation announced today that Daultan Leveille of Michigan State has beennamed the CCHA Rookie of the Month for October. Leveille leads MSU with three goals and five points in seven games, helpingthe Spartans to a 4-2-1 record. Two of his goals are game winners, which ishalf of the Michigan State total. The 5-foot-11, 160-pound forward finishedthe month with a +2 rating. Leveille, a 2008 first-round draft pick of Atlanta, started off hiscollegiate career with two assists, including a helper on the game-winninggoal, in his debut against Massachusetts. The 18-year old forward scored hisfirst goal in his second conference game, Oct. 25 vs. Northern Michigan, andfollowed it up with his first career two-goal game on Oct. 31 vs. WesternMichigan. Michigan State is undefeated when the St. Catharines, Ont., nativeregisters a point. Leveille also had two power-play points in October. Goaltender Scott Greenham of Alaska, goaltender Cody Reichard of Miami,forward Alex Hudson of Nebraska-Omaha, forward Billy Maday of Notre Dame,forward Zac Dalpe of Ohio State and forward Greg Squires of Western Michiganearned special mention for CCHA Rookie of the Month for October.In case you don't recall, Daultan Leveille was the player drafted with thepick that the Thrashers got from Pittsburgh in the Marian Hossa trade.Source
